Rebekka de Wit (The Netherlands, 1985) is a writer and theatre maker. She graduated in 2011 from the Wordcraft programme at the Royal Conservatory in Antwerp. Her graduation performance Hoe dit het verhaal werd (How This Became the Story), about the mediatisation of the world, was a prize-winning piece at the Theater Aan Zee festival in Ostend. She also won the SABAM Schrijfprijs at the same festival for the production Stel je voor, ik zoek een staat (Imagine, I’m Searching for a State). With Freek Vielen, Suzanne Grotenhuiz, Tom Struyf and Harald Austbø she made and performed in the production Heimat. She shared the stage with Maud Vanhauwaert, who wrote a citybook about Lublin, during the 2014 edition of Geletterde Mensen. In 2015 her debut novel We komen nog één wonder tekort (We’re Short by Just One Miracle) was published (Atlas Contact). From 2016 she is a columnist for Rekto:Verso and is taking over the artistic directorship of the theatre group de Tijd, with Freek Vielen and Suzanne Grotenhuis.
