From the mid-1970s to the early 1980s, the Belgian theatre maker, author and actor Jan Decorte (1950) made two feature films and several television documentaries for the Belgian public broadcaster. On Thursday 21 November 2019, Sabzian will be showing Decorte's second feature in KASKcinema on the fifth Seuls-evening, a film adaptation by Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler. Central to the play by the Norwegian playwright is the couple Tesman, just back from a long honeymoon. The woman, Hedda, is pregnant and will be courted by the writer Eljert Lövbor, an old lover who is about to break through with an extraordinary book. Disappointed by her marriage and without a life purpose, Hedda doubts life and struggles with depression, emptiness and disillusionment.
