20.11.19—20:30    Chronopolis (Piotr Kamler, 1982, 52’) KASKcinema

Chronopolis is a gargantuan city somewhere in immense space. The immortal city dwellers are bored in their boring, endless existence, and one day they decide to manipulate time. They do this by playing with atomic particles and electricity, and constructing bizarre objects at a monotonous rhythm. The ultimate goal of their activities is to come into contact with a human being. This completely unique animation film from 1982 is an original meditation on time. Director Piotr Kamler worked on his clay sculptured characters for no less than five years, but almost 40 years later the result is still standing like a house. Chronopolis' is a futuristic science fiction fable that will remain breathtakingly poetically beautiful in 2019.
