Yves Senden holds a master's degree in Classical Philology. His master thesis dealt with he position of Moira in the Ilias and the Odyssee of Homeros. At the Antwerp Conservatory he obtained a diploma in organ, as well as first prizes for harmony, practical harmony, music history, chamber music and the certificate of analysis. In 1995 he graduated from the Conservatory of The Hague as a performing musician. In 2009 he obtained the degree of Doctor in the Arts (field of study: Music and Performing Arts) from the University of Antwerp and the Artesis Hogeschool Antwerpen (Royal Conservatoire).
As an organist he performed in Belgium and abroad and made radio recordings. In the period 1999-2001 he performed with the Firstness Ensemble the musical theatre piece Triumph of Death by Frederic Rzewski. This production was recorded by VRT. As a lecturer, Senden covers a broad domain: talks about composers (Bach, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Dvorak, Mahler, Shostakovich, contemporary music) as well as thematic subjects (the links between classical rhetoric and music, the CD as a curse and blessing, music and emotion, etc.).Contact Yves Senden
